GRIMES CO. JAIL PASSES INSPECTION FOR 20TH STRAIGHT YEAR

The Grimes County Jail has passed state inspection for 20 years running.

The Texas Commission on Jail Standards performed inspection on the jail, open since 1998, on Friday.  Inspections consider booking documentation, screening classifications, safety, and other areas.

According to Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell, inspectors said the facility was clean and in safe working order.  He also says inspectors gave compliments to jail employees for their professionalism and conduct, under Lieutenant Jail Administrator Daniel Caswell.

Sheriff Sowell says he is very proud of his office and employees for the achievement.
