NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER EVENT HAPPENING THURSDAY
This week community members will be able to observe the National Day of Prayer during a local event at the Washington County Courthouse.
The event will be held on Thursday, May 4th at noon at the courthouse in downtown Brenham.
The event will feature patriotic and Christian music starting at approximately 11:45 a.m., with a season of prayer shortly after noon. Organizers say there will be no speeches or politics, as the event will focus on prayer.
A group of local Pastors created the event when they felt the need to have an annual observance of the National Day of Prayer in Washington County.
Pastor Billy Sutherland of Brenham's Calvary Baptist Church is organizing the event this year.
