BRENHAM ANGLERS HAVE BIG WEEKEND AT THSBA TOURAMENT

Saturday, the Brenham Anglers competed in the Texas High School Bass Association tournament on Lake Somerville.

The team of Andrew Malloch and Logan Schwartz won 1st place with a 5 fish total of 25.26 pounds. Their boat captain was Carter Akers.

Two other Brenham Angler teams took home prizes as well.  The team of Alex Klinker and Tyler Morgan placed 6th and the team of Kullen Herms and Sean Rosenbaum placed 15th out of 128 teams that competed.

Overall, the Brenham Anglers club was named Team Champions with their top 3 teams weighing in over 60 pounds of fish setting a new Texas High School Bass Association record. There were 26 schools/clubs that competed.

THSBA was started 4 years ago and now has over 800 teams state-wide.  This is the first year for the Brenham Anglers which has 9 high school teams from 3 local schools (Brenham, Snook and Bellville).

The local students took home over $1000 in scholarships and prizes this past weekend.
