WALK WITH A DOC SET FOR SATURDAY
The Brenham Clinic is offering the public a chance to take a step toward better health by taking part in their Walk With A Doc program, Saturday at Hohlt Park.
Members of the public will get a chance to meet with physicians for an open discussion about health matters, followed by a one- or two-mile walk.
Dr, Eric Alford, an internal medicine physician, and Dr. Jennifer Jones, a pediatrician, are the leaders of Brenham Clinic’s Walk with a Doc initiative, held once a month on the fourth Saturday.
Walk with a Doc is a national program, started by Dr. David Sabgir, a cardiologist in Columbus, Ohio, that encourages patients to incorporate physical activity into their lifestyle.
Walk with a Doc begins at the Amphitheatre at Hohlt Park at 9 a.m. with a five minute information brief on a health topic, followed by a walk for 30-45 minutes, giving participants a chance to ask questions and make new friends.
A physician leads each session as well as other healthcare professionals, and new topics are covered at each meeting. Walk with a Doc is free and doesn’t require registration.
