WOMAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS DRUG

  

On Wednesday at 8:51am, Officer Kevin Mertz conducted a traffic stop on a female subject who had multiple warrants out for her arrest.

Mertz pulled over thirty-nine year old Patricia Elaine Surber of Brenham, and during the conversation, the subject opened the center console of her vehicle, revealing a prescription bottle containing multiple bills and a partial label.

Mertz told the driver that possessing a prescription with an altered label was illegal and the driver admitted that the bottle was not hers, but that she did have a prescription for the drugs inside the bottle. The tablets were later identified as gabapentine.

Surber was charged with possession of a dangerous drug, driving while license invalid, warrant out of Brenham Municipal Court for traffic violations.
