BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO TAKE OUT BONDS

The renovations of the Nancy Carol Roberts Library have begun, the site has been selected for the new animal shelter and a price has been locked in for two fire trucks for the Brenham Fire Department.

City Manager Terry Roberts says when the City Council meets Thursday they will be financing these projects by issuing over $4 million in certificates of obligation.

The Brenham City Council will be issuing certificates of obligation bonds for major projects at Thursday's meeting.

The Brenham City Council is looking at a busy agenda at Thursday’s meeting.

They will hold the second of two public hearings on the annexation of some 400 acres of land adjacent to the city limits. The City Council will vote on this in June.

The landfill land between Brenham and Chappell Hill will come up once again for the City Council.  Roberts says the Council will go into executive session to discuss the status of the 205 acres of land.  The City Council gave up the permit to develop this land for a landfill seven years ago.  A few months ago the City Council hired Hodde Realty to market the property for them.

The Brenham City Council meets Thursday at one at city hall.
