BURTON CITY COUNCIL HIRES ENGINEERING SERVICE, TABLES ORDINANCE COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Burton City Councilmembers voted to hire Gulf Coast Environmental for engineering services at yesterday's (Monday) meeting.

The engineering service was hired to complete and submit a permit application for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  The renewal application is required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Gulf Coast Environmental was hired at a cost of $2000.  Four different proposals were heard by the council, with costs ranging from $1750 to $3250.

The city also voted to remove the agenda item pertaining to hiring a city ordinance compliance officer.  Councilmembers cited the need to continue research on ordinances and to create one that outlines the council’s desires.

The council also received reports from the mayor, city secretary, police, municipal court, and water and sewer department.  The council also discussed its progress on the review of ordinances, before adjourning into executive session.
