Washington County is one of four area counties to be awarded federal funds as part of the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.

Washington, Burleson, Madison and Robertson counties have been chosen to receive funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs.

The four counties have been awarded federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency under the State Set-Aside process of the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.

Washington County will receive $20,000 in funds; Burleson County - $5,000; Madison County - $6,090; and Robertson County - $7,900.

Any organization working to cover a broad spectrum of the residents in these counties in the areas of emergency food, shelter, and utility needs is invited to apply. Individuals are not eligible to apply for these funds.
