A euphonium player for the Brenham High School Band has earned his second designation as a member of the All-State Band.

Alex Guzman, a senior, received the honor after auditioning Saturday at area-level tryouts.  Less than 2 percent of students that begin the audition process earn a spot in the All-State Band.

Guzman was first named to the All-State Band in 2021, and was most recently named first chair euphonium in the All-Region Band.

Fellow band members Carter Cohrs, who plays tenor saxophone, and Brett Campbell, who plays bass trombone, finished first in their auditions on Saturday, giving them an opportunity to record and potentially earn a spot in the All-State Band.

Cohrs finished as a first alternate along with percussionist Peter Do.  Flute player Aaron Rodriguez was also very close to earning a spot in the All-State Band.
