HUNDREDS GATHER IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM FOR ‘UPTOWN SWIRL’
It may have been cold and windy on Saturday, but that did not stop hundreds of visitors to downtown Brenham from enjoying Main Street Brenham’s annual “Uptown Swirl”.
Right around 700 tickets were sold for Saturday’s event, which had participants strolling from shop to shop and trying different varieties of wines at 34 businesses and locations while also enjoying live music.
City of Brenham Tourism and Marketing Director Jennifer Eckermann says while the weather was a bit of a challenge, the event was able to go off without a hitch and was “another great success.” She says she is thankful the “Uptown Swirl” has been able to be held each year since 2012—despite the sometimes poor conditions—to support local businesses and downtown improvements.
