BLINN HOSTING WORKSHOP TO ASSIST SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

Blinn’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is hosting an all-day workshop to help small business owners with desktop accounting software.

A basic QuickBooks course will take place Wednesday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour off for lunch.  The program will provide hands-on time with the QuickBooks desktop version, teaching how to set up records, invoices, and accounts payable and receivable, among other topics.

The Blinn SBDC provides reference materials and a desktop computer to use for attendees.  The class will be taught by Julie Gilmer, CPA and certified QuickBooks advisor.

The workshop will be held at the A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center, at 2910 South Blue Bell Road in Brenham.  Registration is $100 per person, and can be done online at www.blinn.edu/sbdc.  Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.

Accommodations can be made for persons with disabilities, if requested at least two weeks in advance.  Contact Layla Barrett at 979-830-4333.
