SOME NEW FEES IN EFFECT AT LAKE SOMERVILLE

Some new fees are now in effect at Lake Somerville.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has revised the fees for boat launches and swimming beaches, effective January first.

At the lake, the Corps will charge $5 for a minimum day use – an increase of $2.00.

Reservoir Manager Emmitt Attaway also announced an annual day pass, which permits daily use of the Corps’ facilities for one calendar year, has increased from $30 to $40 per year.

Attaway says those are the only changes that apply locally.

The $5 fee will be for a private, nono-0commercial boat.  Attaway says the fee ensures use of a boat launch at a Corps’ park for that day.
