BELLVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER CHASE

A Bellville man is in custody after his arrest Saturday afternoon following a high-speed chase that began in Bellville and ended in Brenham.
29-year old Jousten DeWayne Carter of Bellville faces numerous charges, including: Evading Arrest; Endangering a Child; and Driving Without a License.
Carter was initially stopped by Bellville Police Saturday afternoon. While fleeing from police, he struck an on-coming car, then fled north on Highway 36 into Brenham.
Carter eventually stopped in the 400 block of Barber St. in Brenham after the chase had been joined by Brenham Police, Washington Co. Sheriff’s deputies, Austin Co. Sheriff’s deputies and DPS troopers.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
Authorities discovered marijuana and a large amount of cash in Carter’s vehicle.
Carter is also charged with: Failure to Yield Right-of-Way; Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Tampering with Evidence and No Insurance.
Carter has been booked into the Austin County Jail.
No one was injured in the pursuit.
