BLINN BOARD APPROVES AWARDING CONTRACT FOR OLD MAIN WINDOW PROJECT

Blinn trustees moved forward with construction of the window replacement project on the Old Main Building in Brenham at their meeting today (Monday).

The board unanimously authorized the Administration to award a contract worth $572,000 to Caprock Construction of College Station.  Caprock Construction had the lowest bid out of the three firms that submitted bids for the project.

The board moved at its meeting in October to submit the window replacement project to the Texas Historical Commission, who reviewed and approved the project.

The budget for the project is $450,000.  Funds are available in the approved 2019 fiscal year budget for repairs and renovations.

The Administration expects to have the windows ordered early this month.  Construction will begin in June, and is slated to complete in August.

  1. It sure would inhance the campus greatly if Blinn, the City and County got together and resurfaced Blinn Blvd. from Main St. to the cemetery. It would not only look nicer but smoother to drive and walk on. It seams like there is always money for everything else.
