BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD GETS UPDATE ON COVID-19 RESPONSE

Brenham ISD COVID-19 Response Leader Jamie Woodall updated the school board on the District’s efforts to combat the ongoing pandemic at their noon meeting today (Monday).  She said that she is proud of the different departments working together to combat COVID-19.  Currently, the district has only had 11 confirmed cases.  Board Vice President Melvin Ehlert stated he wanted to commend the district’s staff on limiting the number of cases.  With the flu season coming up, Woodall asked Dr. William Loesch, the Washington County Health Authority, what effect that will have on the district.  Loesch said he believes the flu will have less of an impact due to the efforts the school district to taking to combat COVID.

In other action, Brenham Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin updated the board on the upcoming Strategic Planning meetings.  He said the first meeting with the school board is set for this Thursday evening at Brenham High School.  The following meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th at the Brenham Junior High School.  That meeting will have about 35 community members present to give their ideas on the school district.
