BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO 3 CALLS FRIDAY

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three fairly minor calls on Friday.

Just before noon on Friday the Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle accident at 1201 U.S. Highway 290 West.  One of the vehicles was leaking fluids, which turned out to be windshield washer fluid.  Firemen helped with traffic control until the vehicles were loaded onto wreckers.

Thirty minutes later, at 12:27 p.m. Friday, the Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire at 1104 Carlee Drive in Brenham.  Upon arrival firemen discovered steam coming from the hood of the vehicle due to a broken water hose.

Friday evening at 7:18, fire trucks were called to 177 Alois Lane east of Brenham for a reported house fire.  When they arrived, firemen found light smoke in the house and all occupants were safely outside.  A woman at the scene said she had been cooking when grease spilled on the stove and caught fire.  The Fire Department used fans to remove smoke from the house and there was no serious damage.
