BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

  

Jony A. Alvarez-Benitez, 24, of Brenham was arrested Saturday morning for possession of a controlled substance.

An officer conducted a routine traffic stop at the intersection of S. Chappell Hill and US 290 East at approximately 11 a.m. During the stop, the officer saw what appeared to be a bag containing cocaine in the driver’s side door. Alvarez-Benitez was then detained by the officer.
