BUILDING AND STANDARDS SET DATE FOR ST. ANTHONY BUILDING REPAIR

  

The Building and Standards Commission for the City of Brenham met on Thursday to discuss the progress of the old St. Anthony Laundry Building.

The Commissioners gave the new owner of the building, John Elford, until the end of November to get the St. Anthony Building secure and weather tight. The building, located at 209 S. Market Street in Brenham, has been damaged by weather for years, causing the roof to give way.

The Commissioners agreed that if the work was not complete but underway by the end of November, they would possibly be open to a reasonable extension. The Commissioners went on to say they are confident that Elford will proceed with the project as he has followed through on everything he has presented the Commission with thus far.
