COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE EXTENDED LOCAL DISASTER DECLARATION

  

The Washington County Commissioners approved to extend the local Disaster Declaration in relation to the excessive amounts of rainfall resulting in widespread property damage.

The revised Washington County Emergency Medical Services Department’s Educational Assistance and Employment Obligation Agreement was approved by the court. The agreement states that if a person goes into specialized training, their training is paid for unless they do not complete the training or do not work for at least 18 months after completion. If they do not complete the training nor work 18 months, the person has to pay back money for the training.

The County Commissioners also approved a subdivision variance request from Terry Rose out of the Mary Anna Earley Survey in precinct one. Rose requested in variance request in order to take 2 out of 6 acres in order to sell those 2 acres to his neighbor.  

COMMISSIONERSJohn Wick and the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce presented a check for $11,500 in support of the Washington County Emergency Medical Services station in Chappell Hill.

No fairgrounds contracts were presented during today’s meeting and accounts payable was approved.
