The Brenham Cubs hope the win two weeks ago over Westside is a harbinger of things to come, as they open up District 19/5A play tonight at Cubs Stadium against Tomball Memorial.

The Cubs overcame a rocky start, September 11 to beat Westside 27-24.  That was on the heels of a disappointing performance at Liberty Hill.

With a week off to prepare for tonight’s game, Head Coach Glen West says the Cubs must play better football now that district play is here…

Both teams are 1-2 heading into tonight’s contest.

Coach West says expect the unexpected from the Wildcats…

The Cubs kicked off the season falling to Houston Lamar (35-14) and Liberty Hill (41-14) before their win over Westside.  Memorial dropped their opener to Goose Creek Memorial (14-12) then outscored Galena Park (42-35) before a loss to El Campo (38-8).

It’s also homecoming for the Cubs, with the Queen to be crowned at halftime of the game.  The King will be announced at the dance after the game.

Kickoff at Cubs Stadium is set for 7:00.  The game can be heard beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30 on KWHI and www.kwhi.com.
