FAYETTEVILLE WOMAN ARRESTED IN BRENHAM TRAFFIC STOP

  

A Fayetteville woman was arrested after a traffic stop Saturday night in Brenham.

Just after 11:00 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle that was driving erratically.

Police say the driver, 40-year old Melanie Elaine Schmidt was not intoxicated. However, they say she was very nervous and had a history of narcotics arrests,

During a search, Schmidt reportedly removed a pipe from her pants and attempted to step on it.

Officer Jonathan Phipps recovered the pipe, which had methamphetamine residue in it.

Schmidt was arrested for Tampering with Physical Evidence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
