FLOODING VICTIMS FOUND NEAR AUSTIN

Authorities near Austin have recovered the bodies of a woman and her infant child, both of whom were swept from her vehicle during flash floods in the area, Thursday.

Travis County sheriff's spokesman Roger Wade says 31-year-old Josefina Rodriguez and her 8-month-old son were found dead Friday afternoon;  their bodies found near each other together about a mile-and-a-half from where floodwaters swept her vehicle from a south Austin road.

Both had been missing since Thursday morning.

The deaths bring to four the number of people killed by the Central Texas flooding. Rains that began Wednesday dumped up to 13 inches in some parts. The storms prompted dozens of emergency rescues.

Austin police say a body was recovered Thursday from a creek. Another man died in Caldwell County flooding.
