INVESTIGATION CONTINUES INTO SEALY OVERPASS CRASH

Sealy Police and the Austin County District Attorney continue their probe of the fatal accident over two weeks ago that took the life of 12-year old Bre’in Bullock.

Back on July 7th, a disposal truck driven by 72-year old Carl Weige struck the overpass at Highway 90 at Highway 36, causing a concrete slab to break free and crash down on the vehicle Bulllock was riding in.  Bullock’s mother Leah was hospitalized.

According to Sealy police, the boom on Weige’s truck was still raised when he struck the overpass, and Chief Chris Noble stated the truck had struck a warning device but continued on into the overpass.

District Attorney Travis Koehn has a report from Sealy Police, but has not yet announced whether charges will be filed in the case.

The next Austin County Grand Jury is scheduled to meet Wednesday.

Koehn indicated there may not be enough evidence to present the case then…but would not rule out a possible future presentation.
