JOBLESS RATE RISES IN WASHINGTON COUNTY

  

The jobless rate in Washington County rose slightly in the month of July.

According to the Texas Workforce Commission, the unemployment rate in Washington County stood at 5.8 percent last month, which is a 2-tenths of a percent increase from the June 2016 rate of 5.6. Overall, the jobless rate is down 2-tenths of a percent from the same time last year in Washington County.

In Austin County, the rate is up 3-tenths to 6 percent.

Brazos County’s rate is up 1-tenth to 4 percent.

Burleson County’s rate is up 1-tenth to 5.2 percent.

The rate in Fayette County up 3-tenths to 4.1 percent.

Grimes County’s rate is up 4-tenths to 7.8 percent.

In Lee County the rate is up 2-tenths to 4.3 percent.

And Waller County’s rate is up 1-tenth to 6.4 percent.
