LCRA APPROVES BUSINESS PLAN

The board of directors with the Lower Colorado River Authority has approved a business plan for the next fiscal year.

Officials say approximately 19-percent of the $858-million plan will pay for fuel and purchased power.

The board also approved a $410 million capital plan as well, which includes  energy, water and public service projects.

LCRA has identified more than $350 million in expected rate relief over the next five years for its wholesale power customers.

LCRA is the primary wholesale provider of electricity in Central Texas, selling wholesale electricity through long-term contracts with retail utilities, including cities and electric cooperatives.

LCRA is the wholesale power supplier to the city of Brenham and Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative.
