LINDSEY HEARING UNDERWAY

A hearing is underway in Austin for former Brenham veterinarian Kristen Lindsey, with the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

Lindsey is accused of killing a feral cat in 2015 and then bragging about it on Facebook.

Lindsey was fired from a local veterinary clinic in April of last year. She claimed she shot the cat because she thought it had rabies and wanted to protect her animals.

Some animal rights groups claim the cat was a neighbor’s pet.

Monday, Lindsey appeared in court to address the complaint against her.

When a board attorney asked Lindsey if she believed a bow and arrow can be an appropriate method of killing a cat, she responded that it was an efficient way, but not appropriate.

While on the stand, Lindsey said if her license were revoked in Texas, there’s a good chance she wouldn’t be licensed anywhere else.

During defense questioning, Lindsey told her attorney she would never shoot a feral cat again. When asked if she would post it on Facebook, “God, no,” she said.

An Austin County Grand Jury failed to indict Lindsey on animal cruelty charges. The district attorney claimed there was not sufficient proof to formally charge her.

The hearing is scheduled to continue on Wednesday.

  1. Lesson learned here do not shoot your neighbor’s pet. For the love of God do not post on social media. I can’t believe how fast that picture went viral.I’m not one to judge. When I got my brand new bow I tried to shoot a rooster. Lol fast Little Critter, it lived!!

  2. I agree with Jeff & Steve. Those passing judgment and casting stones, I seriously doubt that you have never done anything wrong…. This young lady has endured more than her share of bashing, passing of judgment, job loss, etc…. Leave her alone, don’t you think she realized now what she did was wrong. Let this rest, she did wrong but she killed an animal, NOT a HUMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. This young woman has paid her debt in job loss, embarrassment, legal fees, and more. She has undoubtedly learned a very tough and expensive lesson.

    Now….Let’s all move on.

  4. My prayers are with you Lindsey. Jesus said it best if you are without sin cast the stone. Let’s just hope and pray our Justice system doesn’t forget what people have died to protect.
