LINDSEY’S ATTORNEYS DISPUTE TESTIMONY

Attorneys for a former Brenham veterinarian fighting to keep her license, are requesting evidence be reopened or a new trial granted.

Lawyers are citing inconsistencies in testimony by a witness called by the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

Attorneys for Kristen Lindsey say testimony by Houston feline veterinarian Dr. William Folger was inconsistent with statements he’d written prior to his appearance in court.

Lindsey posted a photo on Facebook of what she said was a feral cat she’d killed with a bow and arrow.

Folger testified he believed the cat was – in his words, “absolutely alive” when the photo was taken.

Attorney Brian Bishop cites Folger’s comments on the subscription website Veterinarian Information Network, describing the incident as a “kill shot” and alleging Folger showed “over-the-top” hatred for Lindsey.

An April hearing was held in Austin when mediation could not be reached between Lindsey and the State Board.

Attoneys for both sides are required to submit their by today, with reply briefs due in July.

A decision on whether Lindsey’s license will be revoked isn’t expected until October.
