RELAY FOR LIFE KICKOFF EVENT MONDAY

  

Teams are now being invited to learn about and participate in the Washington County Relay for Life Kickoff Event, to be held on Monday, June 15 at 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the Blinn College Janis Sneed Banquet Room of the Student Center.

The Relay For Life kick-off rally is an opportunity for all Washington County residents to come together to kick off the Relay For Life of Washington County and learn more about the event and how to get involved. All are welcomed to attend

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a community celebration where individuals and teams dance, play games and take turns walking around a track relay-style to raise funds to fight cancer. At nightfall, participants will light hundreds of luminaria around the track in a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors, as well as friends and family members lost to the disease.

Started in 1985, Relay for Life began with one man who circled around a track for 24 hours raising $27,000.  This year, Relay for Life has grown to more than 5,200 communities and more than 25 countries worldwide.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Washington County is November 7 at Fireman’s Park.
