ROBERT SMITH, WASHINGTON COUNTY EMERGENCY COORDINATOR DIES
Robert Smith, the Washington County Emergency Coordinator for the past six years, died Tuesday night.
Smith was appointed to the position and was serving in the postion when the county began a new emergency communications system in 2010.
Blackboard Connect for Government allows the county administrators to connect directly with county residents and businesses with voice messages or by email.
It was Smith’s voice the thousands of Washington County residents heard on their phones when the county warned of an emergency.

Prayers for the family. Where will the funeral be today?
It was a pleasure and honor when I met Mr. Smith. He will be missed. I will miss his advise on things.
Love and will miss him very much! He is in Heaven singing in the choir!
Nice guy, great to work with, will miss seeing him around the County Office Annex.
