SOMERVILLE TO RECEIVE NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

  

Somerville residents will soon receive a new elementary school. On Saturday residents voted for a third time to pass a bond in order to build a new elementary school after the two previous bond proposals had failed.

This third bond package of more than $11 million was made for the building of a new elementary school and district cafeteria while relocating the baseball fields to the rest of the athletic fields.

The bond passed with a vote of 327 to 312. Construction will start next spring with the new school opening in the fall of 2018.
