STEP INTO THE PAST LOCATIONS OPEN OVER THE HOLIDAYS

This holiday season in Brenham brings new adventures for area guests and tourists. Step into the Past: Brenham Historic Tours will be open every Saturday in December, including the day after Christmas.

“Never before has Brenham offered so many attractions to entertain and inform visitors,” said Page Michel, President/CEO of the Washington County Chamber Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We expect Step Into the Past Tours to be popular this year for tourists and for local families who want fun ways to entertain their guests.”

“Starting places for the tours are Brenham Heritage Museum and the Washington County Visitor Center,” said Doug Price, director of the museum. “At either location you can pick up free brochures with maps to all the historic sites. Many of the tours are free of charge and some have tour fees - you can get tickets for them at either location.”

“A new 25-minute movie, The Dawn of Washington County, is the perfect way to start the Saturday tours,” said Jennifer Eckermann, manager of Main Street Brenham. “It tells the early history of Washington County and Brenham in an entertaining format, and it sets the stage for the other tours. The movie is being shown every hour, on the hour, in the new Simon Theatre ballroom – in the same building as the Visitor Center.”

Step into the Past includes seven historic sites, five of which have never before been open to the public. Most are Downtown within walking distance of the ticket locations, and most include short movies that introduce the forefathers and stories of those sites.
