GASKAMP ROAD, SOUTH BERLIN ROAD IN WASHINGTON CO. TO UNDERGO REPAIRS MONDAY

Crews will close down Gaskamp Road in Washington County for several hours Monday for repairs.

The Washington County Road and Bridge Department will close Gaskamp Road from the intersection of FM 105 to Newman League Road, from 8 to 10 a.m.  Workers will be replacing a road culvert between the 4300 and 5200 blocks of Gaskamp Road.

Then, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Gaskamp Road will be closed again from the intersection of Newman League Road to William Penn Road.  Crews will replace two road culverts between the 5200 and 6600 blocks of Gaskamp Road.

In addition, South Berlin Road will undergo maintenance Monday from the intersection of FM 389 to Old Mill Creek Road.  County Engineer Ross McCall said the work being conducted is in preparation for a new chip seal later this summer.  The road will remain open and passable, but there may be minor delays.

Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.  All work is weather permitting.

  1. It would be nice if the Washington Co Road and Bridge Dept would make repairs to Pickens Rd., Conner and Sweed. I have called twice (in the last 3 to 4 months) and reported the roads are full of deep holes in all 3 of these roads as well as areas where the asphalt has been scraped off the road down to the gravel. The large feed trucks coming from the feed lot don’t help it just makes these chug holes larger and deeper. Would be nice if the county could fix these roads as well.

We do pay our taxes that are ridiculously high and do not receive and road repairs in return.
