WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS HAVE LENGTHY AGENDA TUESDAY

Washington County Commissioners will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, with a long list of items to go through.

Some of the business to be conducted by commissioners includes approval of a shift differential stipend for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and receiving an economic development update from Brenham | Washington County Economic Development Director Susan Cates.  Donations for the Washington County Expo to purchase new picnic tables will also be considered.

The court will then hear several reports, such as monthly reports from the sheriff’s office, E-911, EMS and the Veterans Service Officer, as well as a quarterly impact report from the Washington County Extension Service.

After the regular meeting, commissioners will open a public meeting to consider two items for the Pecan Glen Road District.  They include a change order and a second payment application to the Pecan Glen roadway improvements project from Schrader Construction Co.

In other regular session items, the court will consider:

  • Reappointing members to the Washington County Historical Commission.  Commissioners will then potentially appoint David Lancaster and Brad Nies to the historical commission.
  • A hiring salary increase for the addressing and mapping coordinator position.
  • A contract for representation of indigent defendants for district court.
  • Revisions to the indigent funeral services contract.
  • Accepting the annual bid items for the county engineer: fuel, road construction material, drive bridge piling, oils and asphalts, steel products, culverts and vehicle tires.
  • A partial replat consolidating two tracts into one in the Chappell Ridge subdivision in Precinct 2.
  • Two 12-inch lay flat water transfer lines within right-of-way for a duration of two months.  One is at Christian Cemetery Road in Precinct 4, and the other is at Rehburg Road in Precinct 3.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
