WASHINGTON CO. LADIES LIONS CONTRIBUTE TO PANHANDLE WILDFIRE RELIEF

  

The Washington County Ladies Lions Club is giving back to those in the Texas Panhandle who have been devastated by wildfires.

wildfire relief efforts in the Texas Panhandle.

At its meeting on Monday, the organization announced it will be joining the Lions District 2-S5 effort to help provide wildfire disaster relief.  The club is contributing $250. 

The Smokehouse Creek Fire is the largest wildfire in Texas history, burning over 1 million acres since it started on February 26th

The Texas A&M Forest Service reports that the Smokehouse Creek Fire and the nearby Windy Deuce Fire, which also started on February 26th and has burned over 140,000 acres, are nearly fully contained.
