BURLESON COUNTY DEPUTIES TO RECEIVE NEW BULLETPROOF VEST
The Burleson County Sheriff’s office has decided to invest in community and their own safety by spending their own money to purchase bullet-proof vests for their deputies.
The vests will run between $800 and $1,000 dollars apiece, and on Monday, deputies were being measured for them.
The ones currently being used by the deputies are twenty years old and, officials say, do not offer the best protection. Other deputies had to go without due to the affordability factor.
A Burleson County business, Evers and Sons, is picking up the tab for the new vests, citing deputy safety as a main reason for the purchase.
The new vest are lighter and more flexible and protect better, allowing deputies to better do their jobs, and should arrive within a month.
Yes, this company should be commended for their great contribution to their community and its fellow peace officers.
Think Evers and Sons is awesome! Adam Sowders would be proud!
