BURTON MAN WANTED FOR A&M CAMPUS ASSAULT

  

Texas A&M police are searching for a 39-year old Burton man who allegedly beat up his girlfriend on the College Station campus in the pre-dawn hours Friday.

Chad Everett Smith called his girlfriend for assistance at 1:30 Friday morning after running out of gasoline at the Texas A&M University Poultry Science Headquarters.

When she arrived an hour later, Smith reportedly got so aggravated that he assaulted her.

He then drove her to a gas station in the 500 block of Harvey Mitchell Parkway where the woman was able to tell the clerk to call police.

Neither Smith nor the woman are affiliated with the university.

Smith is wanted on an aggravated assault charge, a second degree felony punishable by up to a 20 year prison sentence.
