FAYETTEVILLE ANNUAL COUNTRY CHRISTMAS AND HOME TOUR SET FOR DECEMBER 13TH

  

The City of Fayetteville will celebrate a Perfect Hometown Christmas” with a Country Christmas in Fayetteville.

For the 18th year, the historic community takes a step back in time to celebrate the Annual Country Christmas and Homes Tour on December 13, from 10am to 9pm.

There will be a variety of activities including arts, crafts, food, music, kid’s activities, train, bounce house, games, pet costume parade and home tour during the day.

The evening will include more music, “A Night at the Museum,” carriage rides, and a very special visit from Santa Claus.

Arts and crafts, food, and music will kick off the festivities from 10 am to 9 pm, with kid’s activities from 12-4 pm (including train rides, bounce house, and games), then the traditional Pet Costume Parade at 4 pm.

Entry forms for the Pet Costume Parade are available at Jerry's General Store or by request at the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.  And, the real win-win is that the Pet Parade proceeds will benefit the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange.

Fayetteville’s Country Christmas Homes Tour kicks off from 1-5 pm with  sites featured including: Market Street Inn on 111 East Market Street, Jo and Julia Mashburn Cabin on 1105 Kramr, Barbara Torres Home on 420 North Rusk, Betty Yoakum Home on 303 South Mechanic Street, and the James and Karen Jones Home on 109 West Bell Street. Tickets and maps are a nominal $15.00 ($20.00 on the day of the event) and are available Fayetteville Bank, Fayette Realty Inc.,  Jerry’s General Store, Orsak’s Café, and by request as well as on the day of the event on the Square.

Competition heats up as the Christmas Decorating Contests winners are judged from 6 pm - 9 pm on Wednesday, December 10th and announced on the square at 5 pm on Saturday, December 13.

  1. Let’s not forget the real meaning of Christmas! That would be JESUS Birthday! Some people and companies are not saying Merry Christmas anymore. What a shame. Winter break. If Merry Christmas offends you then do your own thing. But don’t ruin it for all of us!! Merry Christmas! Not winter break or some other greeting!
