FIRE DEPARTMENT CALLED TO SMOKE AT LOCAL BUSINESS

The Brenham Fire Department was called out to a report of smoke at a downtown store Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to Glissman’s at 106 West Main Street around 10 a.m., for a report of smoke.

Units arrived to find a light haze inside the building which resulted from a rope used to operator the elevator which had burned through.

A fan was used to remove the smoke from the building.  No damage was reported.

  1. Thank you to the fire department. That is a truly historic building and the elevator is so unique. Good job to all of our first responders.
