FRANKLIN MAYOR ACCUSED OF COERCION
A longtime Franklin Mayor who is running as a Republican County Judge in Robertson County, is being accused of offering people $5 to vote him into office.
The allegations against Charles Ellison and his supporters stem from affidavits from a mother and son in Robertson County who claim that Charles Ellison and his supporters were at a Hearne Food Bank handing out campaign cards and offering to pay them $5 if Ellison won, and the card was returned to him.
If Ellison is found guilty of coercion of a voter, a Class A misdemeanor, he could be sentenced up to a year in jail, and a $4000 fine.
Ellison denies the allegation.
