GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO FALL

  

The average retail price for a gallon of gasoline is at its lowest level in more than five years.

According to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the statewide average price for regular unleaded gasoline in Texas stands at $2.26 per gallon,.

That price is 14 cents less than one week ago and 78 cent lower than one year ago.

Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in Corpus Christi are now paying the most at $2.34 and drivers in Amarillo are paying the least at $2.10.

One station in Bryan is reportedly selling gas at $1.99 per gallon.

Texans are paying 22 cents less per gallon than the national average of $2.48. Texas has among the top 10 least expensive statewide gas price averages in the country.

AAA estimates drivers across the nation are saving more than $400 million dollars each day compared to the high prices paid earlier this year.
