GRIMES CO. GO TEXAN SET FOR JANUARY 29-30

Grimes County Go Texan festivities kick off this weekend in Navasota.

The annual fundraiser for local youth will be held Friday and Saturday at the Grimes County Expo Center.  Gates will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday.

A variety of vendors will be open for business on Friday and Saturday, and a slate of cook-offs on Saturday will see which teams can make the best Bloody Marys, Jackpot Chili, and brisket.  Teams will compete for trophies and the chance to represent the county at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Admission is $10 per person.  Children five and under get in free.

  1. Glad to see that Grimes Co. isn’t afraid to have their go-Texan event. Wish I could say the same for Washington Co.
