BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO MEET TODAY

The Brenham City Council faces a full agenda at their meeting this afternoon.

It’s the first meeting of the council in over a month over a month, after the council’s previous meeting was canceled due to a heart attack suffered by councilmember Charlie Pyle.

During an Executive Session scheduled after the public meeting, council will consider offering financial or other incentives to a Business Prospect looking to locate in or near the city.  They will also discuss the lease between the city and the Brenham Heritage Museum.  The museum facility on Market Street has been closed since it received flood damage in May of 2016.

Councilmembers will also discuss the termination of the construction contract with GCP Contractors.  That company failed to complete the new restrooms at Fireman’s Park.

During the regular session, council is scheduled to discuss:

Storm Sewer and Sidewalk Improvements along Church and Park Streets.

A proposed rate increase for commercial sanitation services.

Bids for Mowing and Cleanup services for various city departments.

A financing proposal for the replacement Virtual Server Environment Equipment.

A $20,000 donation to the Pet Adoption Center.

And a noise variance for a church gathering on March 23rd at Fireman’s Park.

Also on the agenda, council will hear a presentation of the Main Street Brenham Work Plan for 2018.  They will also receive the First Quarter Report from the Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Brenham City Council meets at 1:00 PM on the second floor of City Hall.
