BRENHAM DRIVER LICENSE OFFICE TO CLOSE FOR RENOVATION

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Brenham Driver License Office will temporarily close for renovations beginning this Thursday (at 5 p.m.).

The office is expected to reopen to the public later in March.

Until the renovated office opens, DPS is encouraging customers in the area to visit the Hempstead Driver License Office located at 235 Highway 290 E., Hempstead, TX 77445.

When work is complete, the Brenham office will feature upgrades, including improved customer flow designed to improve efficiency and customer service experience.

“Although the temporary closure of this location may be a brief inconvenience, I am confident that the renovations will deliver an efficient office for both the public and the staff" says State Senator Lois Kolkhorst. "The Texas Department of Public Safety office in Brenham is an incredible asset to my constituents, and I will always work to see that they maintain this office in our community,”

Many Texans are eligible to take advantage of online services for driver license/ID card renewals, duplicates or address changes available at Texas.gov. Customers can also renew by phone at 1-866-357-3639. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals.

  1. That building needs to be torn down and restarted from the ground up. The one in Bryan is bigger than we need, but a similar design would be awesome. The Troopers there could use more modern space too.

    1. Are they planning to replace that vision tester; it is so outdated ?? I could not even read all of those mispelled words last time a I was there.
