DARDEN SMITH TO PLAY AT BARNHILL CENTER NEXT WEEKEND

  

A highly acclaimed singer/songwriter who was born in Brenham returns to his hometown for a performance next weekend.

Darden Smith, who was born in Brenham in 1962 and lived here for the first 14 years of his life, will play at The Barnhill Center Saturday night, February 24th.  Smith is well known as a singer/songwriter who weaves together a blend of rock, pop, country, folk and Americana into his music.  But the roots of his music are in his home state of Texas.  Smith recorded his first album, “Native Soil” in 1986, and his 15th and latest album, “Almost Everything”, this past year.

Tickets to see Darden Smith at the historic Simon Theater in downtown Brenham on Saturday, February 24th at 7 o’clock are $20, and are available at www.thebarnhillcenter.com.  Beer and wine will be available for purchase the night of the show.
