TEEN VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN CALDWELL FATAL ACCIDENT

  

The teenager killed in a car accident in Caldwell Saturday has been identified.

Caldwell police say 15-year-old Brandon Mackens of North Zulch was a passenger in a truck on Texas 21 when the accident happened. The truck was pulling a 35-foot trailer when the driver lost control, striking a traffic light pole. Authorities say Mackens was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the The Eagle in Bryan/College Station, this is the second time tragedy has struck the Mackens family in a short time. Brandon Mackens’ father was killed in a vehicle accident last January. Authorities say his pickup truck ran off the road on U.S. 190 and hit a tree.

Visitation for Brandon Mackens will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Madisonville Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
