COUNTY MAN RECEIVES PRISON SENTENCE IN DISTRICT COURT
A Washington County man has been sentenced to prison on a number of felony charges.
In this week’s session of 21st District Court, 26-year-old Deadrius Dewayne Walker of Washington, pleaded guilty to four felony charges: Unlawful Possession Firearm by Felon; Bail Jumping and Fail to Appear; Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon; and, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
Walker was sentenced to four years in prison on the Possession of a Firearm and Bail Jumping charges, and two years each on the Aggravated Assault and Organized Criminal Activity charges.
Also sentenced in District Court:
44-year-old Benny Earl Green of Rockdale. Sentenced to 15 months in prison for Possession Controlled Substance, 4 oz-to-5 pounds.
34-year-old Louvere Chip Vershier of Houston, placed on eight years’ probation for Possession Controlled Substance. Vershier was also fined $2000.
45-year-old Ray Erwin Drews of Brenham was sentenced to two years in prison for Possession of Controlled Substance.
And, 42-year-old Gerson William Castaneda-Guillen of Brenham was sentenced to 99 days in jail for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Member – a Class A Misdemeanor.
