SATURDAY LAST DAY TO VOTE IN ‘SPRING EGGS ART WALK’

  

Today (Saturday) is the last day to vote in Main Street Brenham’s annual “Spring Eggs Art Walk.”

Thirty-five giant, decorated eggs are scattered across downtown in front of businesses and on street corners.  The public can vote for their favorite eggs through today, and can do so online at www.downtownbrenham.com/springeggs, or by going to participating sponsors or the Visitor Center to fill out a paper ballot.  Winners will be announced on Wednesday.

A total of $1,200 in cash prizes will be awarded in adult and student categories, as well as a $200 best of show prize from Kieke Egg Farm.  Cash prizes of $125 will be awarded for most creative, most votes, judges’ choice, and best Easter theme.

Other prize sponsors are Brown Water Cigar Bar, Hermann Furniture, The Pomegranate/Funky Art Café, Pioneer Smokehouse and Mercantile, Brenham City Councilmember Susan Cantey, The Canyon Chick, Las Americas Latin Cuisine, and Must Be Heaven.

Completed eggs are also up for auction during the art walk.  Anyone can bid on an egg via a link provided on the website.  Auction proceeds from each egg will be split 50/50 between the egg artist and Main Street Brenham.  Auction proceed money will be presented in addition to any prize money an entry has won.
