CHAPPELL HILL SET FOR SCARECROW FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND

The Chappell Hill community will welcome fall this weekend at the 46th Annual Scarecrow Festival.

(KTEX-106)

Visitors will be able to shop at over 250 juried exhibitors and vendors, eat country-style food and enjoy live entertainment and family-friendly activities throughout downtown Chappell Hill.  Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Joel Romo, past president of the Chappell Hill Historical Society and current public relations committee chair, says “Chamber of Commerce” weather should make for a great weekend of fun for everyone, one that brings thousands of people each year.

Some of the goods available for purchase will include home décor, arts and crafts, gardening items, jewelry and clothing.  Children can look forward to pumpkin decorating, train rides, coloring contests and other games at the Poplar Lot.

Musicians slated to perform tomorrow will be Jimmy Green from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dylan Rhys from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and Chicken Live at a Bar from 3:30 to 6 p.m.  Sunday will follow up with Jimmy Green from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Justin Cole from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and the Dover Brothers from 3 to 5 p.m.

The festival is hosted by the nonprofit Chappell Hill Historical Society, who works to preserve the community’s past and its historical buildings.

Admission to the Scarecrow Festival is free.  Parking is $10 and is located on FM 1155, north of its intersection with Highway 290.  No street parking is allowed.

More details about the festival are available at https://chappellhillhistoricalsociety.com or the Chappell Hill Scarecrow Festival Facebook page.

KTEX-106’s Eilish will be broadcasting live from the festival tomorrow morning on KWHI and KTEX-106.
