BRENHAM MAN SENTENCED TO PROBATION AFTER GUILTY PLEA TO PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE CHARGE

A Brenham man was sentenced to five years’ probation in the latest edition of 21st District Court.
31-year-old Ronald Jason Cienega plead guilty today (Tuesday) to possessing a Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, a third degree felony. Cienega was indicted in February 2019 for the offense, which occurred in November of 2018.
In addition to his sentence of five years’ deferred adjudication probation, Cienega will also have to pay a $1,500 fine, court costs, and a $50 crime stoppers fee. He will also have to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment.
