CUB COMPANY PERFORMS STEADFAST TIN SOLDIER BEGINNING SATURDAY

The Brenham High School Drama Department will have another big challenge facing them as they perform Steadfast Tin Soldier beginning Saturday.  The musical is an adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale about a tin soldier who has just one leg and who falls in love with a beautiful paper ballerina.  The play will be performed by the productions class, which means the students will have more of a hand in putting it all together.  Brenham was also recently chosen from many entries to perform part of this musical at the upcoming Texas State Thespian Festival later this month.

The musical is challenging in that it has many scene changes and fairy tale characters who are portrayed by live actors. It is part of this year’s Season of Literacy by the Cub Company. It will be performed in the smaller Black Box Theatre which is adjacent to the drama classroom.  Performances are Saturday, November 16th at 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.  It will also be presented next Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM.  Tickets are $8.00 in advance and be purchased online at cubcompany.booktix.com.  They can also be purchased for $10.00 at the door before the production, but seating is limited in the Black Box Theatre.
